Lake Vermilion is considered one of the top ten most scenic lakes in the
United States. With its 40,000 acres of water, 365 islands and 1200
miles of shoreline, it stretches 40 miles across the heart of Minnesota's
Arrowhead Region. Vermilion, being one of the most southern Canadian
Shield lakes, offers some of the most spectacular fishing. It is renowned
as a premier walleye lake, but considered Minnesota's best kept secret for
both small and large mouth bass. You'll find exceptional northern pike
fishing, but "In-Fisherman" keeps saying that Vermilion is Minnesota's
up-and-coming muskie lake. The pan fisherman won't be left out either,
they can even be caught right off of Spring Bay's docks.
