My stay at your resort was better than I had imagined, and the service was as
good as I had heard. I was busy the night before I left and thought I had to
bring my boat in early Saturday morning; what a pleasant surprise to wake up at
5:30 in the morning and find my boat already out of the water, on my trailer
and sitting not far from my cabin! Not a lot of resorts would have done that.
The cabins were very clean, and as was mentioned in the you tube video all the
utensils one could imagine! We canceled a vacation we had already scheduled at
another resort for the fourth of July week and booked with Spring Bay. Even
if we lose the 700 dollar deposit we are making the right choice. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for your exceptional hospitality. After eighteen years
of spring fishing trips to Canada, we have found a new destination at Spring
Bay Resort. The facilities were perfect. For a first trip and getting to
know the lake, the fishing was great. Looking forward to our next trip up.

It was our first experience at Spring Bay Resort. It was great. They took
us out since it was our first time on the lake - they showed us all the
"Hot Spots". You can expect us back next year!
Jim H., Wausau, WI
Great Experience! It's nice to know we've found a place to visit every year
to fish & enjoy each others company. The service you provide is first rate &
outstanding. Thanks for all your help. See you next year.

To Joe, Steve & Greg and the rest of the staff at Spring Bay Resort:|
We spent a wonderful week with our two children, their spouses, and our
four grandchildren at Spring Bay Resort. Our cabins were clean and well
furnished. If we needed anything or forgot to pack something, the staff
was there to meet our needs. The sandy beach was well maintained and the
resort supplied more toys than our grandchildren could use. Cleaning fish,
inflating floatables and helping with our boat were just a few of the extras
Spring Bay Resort provided. Thank you Spring Bay Resort! We will be back.

To Joe & Steve at Spring Bay Resort:|
Went up to Minnesota to help the parents get settled into their summer cabin up at Lake
Vermilion. They bought a used pontoon that I went and picked up. Lug nuts came loose
on the right side wheel, had to change hub and bearings on the side of the highway.
The guy felt bad we bought it from. Brand new trailer!! Lucky the little town I was
in had a wheel!! That was the first day of vacation. The guy never ran the motor
higher than idle so the maiden voyage turned into a no power situation because of
dirty carbs. My buddy Steve from Spring Bay resort had to come tow us in. (Thanks
again Steve. I owe ya big time) Typical in this game of boating and fishing hey?
We finally got the tooner dialed in proceeded to hammer the walleyes. I had a plan
to fish this main lake point that has deep water (38ft) on each side and bluegill,
perch and crawfish on top (15ft.) We would anchor on the 16-18ft side and cast
slip bobbers out towards deeper water. Just sit and wait for the fish to come out
of that deeper water to feed. The attached newspaper article was done mid week.
Our total was 36 walleyes. I kept accurate records of all the fish. The average
size of the 36 was 3.62 pounds and 23.5". To bad this wasn't a tournament. Dad
caught his personal best from this lake, 6lb. 9oz. In the past if you caught one
fish over 3 lbs. it got a ticker tape parade!! I sent an email to the editor of
the newspaper explaining even though this trip was unbelievable, only 6 fish out
of the 36 were keepers!! Lake Vermilion has a 17"-26" slot. You can only keep 4
fish under 17 and one over 26. We all want a walleye meal on vacation. The slot
should be changed to 20" to 26". I heard the editor printed my email explaining
this situation in yesterdays paper!! I'm going to send the DNR a note on this as well.
Thanks Joe (Spring Bay Resort) for the lesson on this issue!!
Nothing better than watching a bobber slip slowly into the ibis and then ripping
into pure resistance!! God I love that!!
The beautiful, yet convenient location in relation to town, incredibly
comfortable and well furnished cabins, extremely accessible boat docks and fully
stocked bait house were just the beginning of an unforgettable week at Spring
Bay Resort. But the thing that sets Spring Bay head and shoulders above the
rest, is the people that run it. Between Joe and Steve, you will not find a
tandem that know the (entire) lake and the tendencies of the fish any better
than the two of them. Couple that with incredible service and an extremely
friendly and helpful staff, with Greg and Jake on the docks, and Steve, Dayis
and family (Koda included) in the office, and you will find yourself looking for
open weeks the following year the moment you arrive at home from a week
on Vermilion. We are very excited for future trips in the years to come and look
forward to seeing all of you again soon. Thanks again,
