ABOUT US
Spring Bay Resort on beautiful Lake Vermilion has been welcoming guests since it was originally built in the 1950s. For decades, it has been a place where families gather, fish stories are told, and lifelong Northwoods memories are made.
In the fall of 2007, our family purchased Spring Bay Resort, beginning a new chapter rooted in tradition, hard work, and a deep love for the outdoors. In 2008, Steve began guiding on Lake Vermilion and has since built a successful and knowledgeable guide team—guides who are on the fish daily and know the lake inside and out.
In January of 2020, Steve and Dayis officially took ownership of the resort, continuing its legacy with the next generation in mind. Together with their kids, Sammy (11) and Brayden (14), they embrace an outdoor lifestyle centered around fishing, hunting, and family—balanced with hockey, basketball, and golf.
Spring Bay Resort offers a bait shop and tackle shop stocked with the essentials to help you make the most of your time on Lake Vermilion, along with more amenities designed to keep your stay simple, comfortable, and enjoyable.
And no visit would be complete without Papa Joe, affectionately known as the “Mayor of Spring Bay.” Often surrounded by grandkids, nieces, and nephews, he helps keep the friendly, family atmosphere alive that guests return for year after year.
At Spring Bay Resort, you’re not just visiting a destination—you’re becoming part of a Lake Vermilion tradition that’s been going strong for generations.
